George Dobbs

George Dobbs is a guitarist, singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and recording artist. He is currently co-vocalist for the pop rock duo Heartland.

George has played in classic rock groups for several decades in the Washington/Baltimore/Annapolis area; most notably with Inside Strait and Hapy Jack, with whom he toured, played arenas and outside concerts, countless clubs, corporate parties and even rocking weddings. George’s bands have backed up or opened for several national artists including The Coasters, Dr. John, Nils Lofgren, and Jimmy Buffet.

George is a talented multi-instrumentalist playing electric and acoustic guitar, ukulele, banjo, mandolin, dobro, lap steel, keyboards, Hammond organ, harmonica, fretless bass and drums.

George has written and recorded over forty songs. Whether in the studio or rocking live, George’s improvisational lead guitar style incorporates melodic jazz, blues, country and classical scales. Predominately influenced by Dickie Betts, Duane Allman, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, BB King, George Benson and Eric Johnson, these classic styles can be heard and felt in his work.

Vicky Wyman is a singer, songwriter and professional actor. Based in New York City, she was lead singer and songwriter for the Vicky Wyman Band. She performed in numerous popular venues in Manhattan including repeated appearances at the Bitter End and the Village gate.

Vicky’s album, Heartland, was recorded in Nashville and produced by Jimmy Capps, leader of the Grand Ole Opry Band. Her original songs came alive on the recording with Capps’ players who had previously performed on countless hits.

Vicky’s second album, While the Music Plays On was produced and recorded in Newport, Rhode Island and covers American Songbook and jazz classics. Featured on the album is Gray Sargent, guitarist for the late Tony Bennett.

Vicky also took part in originating the female acapella group The Angoras which toured the US gulf coast and appeared with Jan and Dean and the Cajun bluegrass group Achafalaya. She was also the vocalist for the pop band Big Bug in New York City. A highlight of this period was the guest appearance of Earl Slick, David Bowie’s guitarist and recording artist, on Vicky’s band at the Bitter End.

Vicky has also appeared in innumerable plays and musicals over the course of her career in both Regional and Off Off Broadway theatre. Her favorites are Honky Tonk Angels, Hairspray and The Neon Time.

Vicky has lived in the Bethany Beach area for two years and is excited about her new duo Heartland. In Heartland, she has found a partner who matches her striving for a great musical experience, both for the players, and especially for you the listener!
